Manchester Game Centre researchers appointed to UKRI expert panels

The Manchester Game Centre are pleased to say that its members have joined the prestigious UKRI Peer Review College. Dr Tom Brock, Senior Lecturer in Sociology, and Dr Chloé Germaine, Reader in Game Studies in the Department of English, have both recently joined the UKRI Talent Peer Review College.

Tom joins the ESRC Peer Review college, which consists of around 3,400 members whose expertise helps to ensure that the Economic and Social Research Council supports the highest quality research. His role will be focussed on reviewing funding proposals relating to games and the social sciences.

Chloé joins the AHRC peer review college, which has around 970 members from higher education institutions and independent research organisations in the United Kingdom and overseas, and from outside academia, and will be called upon to review funding proposals across the humanities and arts, especially relating to games, game art and critical game studies.

These appointments recognise our researchers expertise across the study of games, gaming technology, and game cultures. As peer review college members, Tom and Chloé will play a crucial role in ensuring the UKRI continues to support the highest quality research, and funds innovative research into games.
